Coronavirus, epidemic health crisis and the reasons why it is time to audit not only your well-being but the health of your brand | The well-being Edit
For the last weeks, the word “coronavirus” is being the buzz term across the media, on the streets and in day-to-day live, unfortunately, the fame cannot be linked to anything positive |
Numerous business around the world have started allowing their employees to stay at home and remotely work in the comforts of their own homes to limit the danger of this highly unwanted academic spread |
As having the first number of dead cases associated directly with the virus itself, the organisations start implementing their contingency planning based on home working and flexibility to sign itself sick if there is only a slight suspicion of the possibility of being sick. The UK prime minister, Boris JohnsonBoris Johnson is not even allowing the thought of coronavirus to become a mass epidemic therefore as the prevention steps he considers that enforced home working could be the ultimate solution to prevent the worst-case scenario |
The good things that can be read from this current hot topic are conducting business as usual but in the pyjama set
How to stay healthy and productive?
- Be flexible – The switch-mode – swap from home to office mode by having a day to day plan in place (ideally written a night before) and a separate room / space in your house
- Be Realistic – Do not place too much on your shoulders to complete in one day – the longer the list the greater chances it will be moved for the next day
- Take breaks – allow yourself taking a well-deserved break from the screen of your laptop will give your eyes a little break and your brain the time to digest, step away and re-think
- Separate the noise – find the right space that would allow you to set your mind into professional matters
- Be active – working from home does not mean being isolated, unhealthy or unsociable – ensure that you go out regularly and see others, connect maybe via social channels and share the joys of working from home, making sure that you look after your mental and physical health shall give you plenty of ideas to figure out what keep you sane, happy and fulfilled (remove the idea of Netflix, chocolate or a glass of wine) – go out and find the time to enjoy nature – this will give you more opportunity to take a breath and inhale the free goodness

Finally, the home working time is perfect for assessing the health of your brand if you are a founder, a director, an owner of any organisation |
How?
Just take a critical look at your brand, separate yourself from it and put yourself in the position of an observer – what do you think the brand represents? What is missing? What does it express?
The WHYs – the reasons to measure the brand’s health apart from your own:
- To make sure that the vision, mission and brand values are clearly articulated across all communication channels and well-aligned with the brand’s soul (credo). This includes: website, social media, marketing and even the language, clothing style and the type of etiquette associated with employees |
- To align the brand’s visual style with all its elements (colours, style, imagery), clear messaging to support the clear and engaging understanding of the story communicated to the outside world |
- To monitor that brand is consistent across all platforms, regardless of digital, print or other media as well as across internal and external messaging |
